A Quick Overnighter

Well it was the last week of the season when i got two consecutive days off. Also i haven’t really managed any over night trips like you plan in your head in the dark depths of winter each year. So it was here i needed a plan and a decision on which stead, tent etc to take.

The choice of bike wasent a hard one. Ive loved eery second ive owned my Surly Pacer its just so comfy and so quick. The bike choice kinda decided my kit choice aswell. With no rack mounts it all had to fit in my porcelain rocket saddle bag. That includes my tent, mat and bag. So i opted for the Tarp tent contrial, my ultralite multimat and just a sleeping bag liner as its been surprisingly warm in the UK this summer.

The plan was to train to Exeter then follow the coast to plymouth for the train home. But this plan ended within 10 minutes of home when i bumped into two cyclists Tim and Sarah. The were following the north coast from Bristol to Lands End. I eneded up having a brilliant day showing them my local coastline and a night under canvass only 35 miles from home. It just shows you dont need to go far and see new things all the time. Just riding with good people plus a bit of sunshine.

And heres a few pics
